2:06 p.m.

feeling a bit scattered today, so this will probably be a scattered, stream-of-consciousness type entry.

today has been ok. woke up on time, made it to work on time, the kids got to school on time. all major victories.

i subbed at KidOne and KidTwo's old preschool today in the pre-K class. the kids were very cute. it's funny though, because they seemed so little to me, but KidTwo was just in that class last year and she didn't seem that little to me at the time.

then lunch at a local crappy chain restaurant (rhymes with crapplebees) with a friend and her daughter. enjoyable.

here are a couple of random things on my mind:

1. i'm relatively new to this blogging thing. how do you respond when somebody leaves a comment or note for you? do you comment/note back to them in your own blog, or do you comment/note in their blog, or do you e-mail the person directly?

2. watched the premiere of "amazing race:family edition" last night. i love "amazing race"! we'll see if the whole family team thing works out. but it didn't annoy me as much as i thought it would.

3. KidOne talks about death a lot. well, probably not a lot, but frequently enough that i notice it and wonder if it's normal. last night he said he was upset about dying and wanted to know what happens after you die. i asked him what he thinks happens, and he said "I think my life will be pitch black." o.k. guys, this was one of those parenting moments we all hope we handle the right way. so i told him "some people believe that, but daddy and i don't. daddy and i believe that when you die, you go up to heaven and get to be with the people you love who went to heaven before you." KidOne asked "like papa and great grandpa?" i said "yes" then he asked "will daddy get to see his poodle that he had when he was a little boy?" and i said "yes, and in heaven there's no sadness or hungry people or poor people or homeless people, because God takes care of you." he smiled and said "can i get a set of fly wheels for christmas like the ones robbie has?"

don't you just love being a parent?
